Please, folks. Please, for your own sake, learn to accept that. We're well past the point where job security was something you could realistically expect here. Layoffs have become a toll to fix the numbers short-term and will be used as such moving on. It's sad but it is what it is.

Exactly. We live in a capitalist economy. The bottom line will always be the bottom line, and unless a company is employee-owned the priority will always be CEO salaries and shareholder profits.
