Planning on leaving soon and have 70 hours of PTO. Do they pay that out in full? Or is it just 40 hours?

Take PTO and then give your notice. They won't pay it out, and if you have scheduled time off that coincides with your 2 weeks, they'll rescind the PTO from what I've heard
No payout unless your state mandates it … I lost 36 hours when I left.
Several US states mandate PTO payout upon termination. These include California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska, and North Dakota. In these states, employers must pay out the value of unused accrued PTO to employees when they leave the company, whether by resignation or termination.
I worked as preservice coordinator and left the company last year. I don’t think they reimburse any PTO unless the state you live in requires it.
Certain states mandate payout of PTO, so if you’re in one of those states they have no choice.
once they announce the RIF any PTO request will denied, but not approved PTO they have to pay. so alot of sick days after RIF announcement lol
All this information is available in the employee documents available from HR. Typically, only 40 hrs are paid out. Anything over that is not.
My understanding is that payout of PTO is state specific. You might just want to take it! Take 2 weeks, starting the day you start your new job, then email your resignation and ask for boxes to send everything back.
Optum doesn’t pay out PTO? Wow, guess gotta burn it before layoffs.
no payout, and you cannot use PTO once you resign (although it is at Manager discression). It could be different elsewhere, but that is the policy under Optum/Optum partner services
