Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

Enough with the cuts already

They’ve downsized so much that my "team" is just me and a few exhausted zombies trying to hold things together. Execs keep preaching "do more with less," but all we’re doing is failing slower. You cannot run a company without people. No matter how much you think AI is doing a great job, you’re just pi----g everybody off, and they’ll find alternatives.

True
There is still some of us that love PayPal but less each day
Work from home was the biggest mistake this company ever made

@hg couldn’t agree more with this post. The C-suite is out of touch. Aaron W is another one who constantly flaunts his travel on his private plane. (Did anyone hear his disparaging comments during the Notes to Self Synergy Panel where he said he didn’t take a job in LATAM because “they only eat tacos and empanadas there…why would I move there?”The recording was edited to remove that part the ultimately removed).

Also, entire sites shut down or certain sites deprioritized, no growth, no purpose on the front lines. As the good leaders leave or are removed, the bottom of the barrel is left running things who can’t even spell or use correct grammar half the time.

The favorites will be ok...I think this was the worst place I ever worked at when it came to teams and brain rot. Never lost a job until this place. I hope the next place is mentally stimulating and offers better career growth without so much nepotism.

@ca We aren't even paid avergae salaries. In many back office departments, we are 20k or more below the comps. Every excuse has been given as to why they can't give us that... economy, recovery from Covid, etc. Yet the competitors are also experiencing the same economy and went through Covid. They are letting years of proven talent and tenure walk oit the door and don't give a cr-p. Then not backfilling and continue to pile work onto those who stay, asking for cross skills, job role expansions, and increased production. No pay raise, and now our job titles were changed to a title that has a lower median national salary. Hard to see VP promotions announced, upper leadership with stocks to cash each month, a CEO who wears a 40k watch in All Hands, and hear leadership say PP is still a titan with billions in revenue, but you can't pay your loyal employees their worth? And let's keep taking away perks and benefits, too. Might as well be a cr-p worker who doesn't care, since how you perform and loyalty means nothing now. This is a completely different company now. Somebody please go get Dan back for us.

Year after year layoffs while other companies are expanding, PayPal is in a constant state of contraction. Execs don’t have a clue. HR lead needs to be sacked, no clue on attracting and retaining talent. Forget about being a leader, PayPal is way behind. There is no way of recruiting new talent because the pay is below market.

The company is slowly fading I agree, they guted the training department and now we see the result of that.
Also they talk about salary "we want to remain competitive" sorry I thought we wanted to be leaders in our segment.
The fact is that we are sheeps, following other companies, loosing the best people to senseless cuts, paying average salaries, going back to office, giving average customer service ...
AI will also be average like all the auto solution that are implemented.
