“Tape Was Green” — Now It’s Just Red, Like the Morale

Remember when JC stood up at the Town Hall and told us “the tape is green” like that was supposed to make us feel better about layoffs? Fast forward a few weeks: the tape’s red, the halls are empty, and morale is in the basement with the unpaid invoices.

Meanwhile, MM and SR are still out here running their “Cost-Cutting Olympics,” giving themselves gold medals while the rest of us get escorted out with a box and a “thanks for your service.”

$800K in savings per well? Cool. Hope someone’s measuring the cost of gutting trust, culture, and actual talent.

But hey—as long as the spreadsheets look good and Egypt gas is flowing, I’m sure everything’s fine.

Totally fine.

The entire executive team is a joke. You have JJC who couldn't lead a pack of lemmings of a cliff, his boyhood friend who cannot do anything but hire consultants, SR who cannot do anything other than count the pennies that are leaving the valuation faster than the speed of light, the diversity hire EVP of exploration who cannot find anything other than the projects handed to her by the previous regimes of JJC's buddy in Alaska, a new general council who also appears to be a diversity hire and so on ...

Peons,

Cut, cut, cut, sell, sell, sell. Look at our well in Alaska, just as we expected. Now, pay me!

Sincerely,
Leadership

Rest assured, ELT has a strategy fully mapped out for $56 WTI (2025) and $52 WTI (2026). The future is BRIGHT! You just wait, naysayers. I'm only down 43 percent in the past year. No place to go but up, right???

Thanks for the update. One of things learned long ago is a company can never save its way to profitability. I believe it is time for some corporate raiders like T. Boone Pickens to ride in on companies and challenge the direction of these companies! Good luck.

How are they saving money when less fracs saves $800k per well but you have to drill more wells the recover the same reserves. Do what you do best and lay off valuable employees and sell assets at a discount. You can’t save money on LOE because that’s real. There’s no hope for the Titantic and beluga.
