I assumed that if any department were to face such a large percentage cut and job shift to India, it would be Technology — not P&O, which seemed less risky. Clearly, I am wrong.

P&O projects turn things into a mess. Look at M&S project delays and Argos project and all the problems associated with equipment and piping failures from the start. Job security for Operations fixing all the issues. If UK and US engineers produce such a mess, moving jobs to India can't be any worse just producing the same mess for cheaper. We don't talk about these issues just pat ourselves on the back for starting up and project folks move on to the next project to create another mess instead of learning and fixing the problems so they can't be repeated.

US-Based C&P. Roles that have been lost due to attrition post-re org are not being re-hired for. Vague rumblings of business continuity projects. Feeling on the ground is further cuts in the not distant future.

10-20% reduction in numbers, but only roles in scope are based in UK, US, Spain, Netherlands and Australia. Total reduction excludes pay offs from January round. So in effect it’s a further 15-30% reduction in affected countries.

The whole India experiment is a race to the bottom, quality will suffer, costs there are in hyper inflation, staff turnover will end up 4x in India vs established hubs, and you’ll need a small army of expats to manage them.

Our contractors must be rubbing their hands together, as the erosion of competence will cost BP big.

Really in bad taste that they had a "moment of respect" for the employees who committed S***ide; when it is their gross mismanagement and incompetence that made bp this way. Sad that every meeting now includes "call your EAP".

If I interpreted the statements from LT correctly, it is 20% overall from current staff, but then hiring back 10% in tsi india; so the overall net being cut is 10%

is it also true that they are asking people to volunteer for part time working or take a sabbatical?
