Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Office townhalls

Is anyone getting the schedule of these townhalls, or do they show up with an hours notice?

Are they quiet because a new CEO is in the works or will his interim title just be removed?

Seems a little quiet as we are 2 months into it without much detailed goals...or am I just too anxious?

Don't know about below 1k, but definitely below 1,500. I've been here since we had that many and its more than enough. The only ones saying its not is the fat cat managers and directors that made a fortune doing as little as possible. 90% of them sand bagged fiber and scn and caused this mess. They all need to be riffed. There's not a position that can't be replaced w experience from outside so the place runs efficiently. I'm not expecting a rif until close to or after the sale but its gonna happen. If it doesnt the company will be broke up and sold.

Expect a RIF. Shared Services cut, Enterprise Security cut, HR cut, sales cut, Infrastructure cut, Networking cut, etc. Those areas no longer need to that large anymore for a towers only company. Especially when Ceown outsources all the tower work to other organizations. Iexpect Crown to get to below 1k people and offices closed/sold by late 2026. It's the right business decision to make when only towers are left.

All the carriers have also been making comments that they are trying to buy the towers for their own longevity, which makes since with the push for satellite usage coming online and finally using 5G true capabilities.

Sales isn't even required for the tower side. RF performance engineers control the carriers and determine what will go where, the tower companies just sit there and say thank you. Sales is a joke on that side of the industry.

True. Two giant branches of the family tree left this year though. Their minions are running around like lost blind mice now. Don't feel a bit bad for them.

Ha Sales! That's where the nepo web started 20 years ago and took over the company. What a joke.

Big rif in shared services. Tower ops already cut, Fiber and scn are already leaving. No reason for shared services to have ever been as bloated as it was let alone now w half a company.

What offices have been notified of impending town halls?

Rumors out of Clown Castle headquarters circulating is more reduction in head count, the customers are less active and let’s be honest the Sales team doesn’t really leave any confidence in carriers minds so Crown of today’s world is not interested in keeping their employees employed in times on low app count, at least below
Mgr roles that is.. GL everyone!

2 things can be true. I’m anxious with you and it has been eerily quiet.
