Thread regarding United States Layoffs layoffs

NFW Layoffs 2025 - Natural Fiber Welding Layoffs

• NFW has now completed its third round of “corporate restructuring,” which shockingly resulted in yet another round of layoffs — because why fix what’s clearly not working
• As usual, the company didn’t bother disclosing how many people got cut or which of its Peoria facilities were affected — keeping the guessing game alive for all
• The press release described the layoffs as a “difficult decision” that affects “many talented team members,” which is PR shorthand for “we're not giving you real numbers”
• CEO Steve Zika claims the new structure will help “embed IP” in supply chains instead of producing materials — translation: let someone else do the work
• The company insists its mission is “unchanged,” which is a comforting sentiment if you ignore the complete business model overhaul
• NFW is now calling itself an “intermediates business,” which sounds impressive until you realize it's code for “we’re downsizing to survive”
• This follows last year’s fun times, where the previous CEO resigned for “personal reasons” just after furloughing a significant portion of staff
• A prior layoff in April 2023 hit about 10 percent of employees, supposedly as a bold step toward growth — or at least a leaner org chart
• Despite the endless restructuring, NFW assures us this is a “new chapter” with the same eco-friendly purpose, just fewer people around to execute it

They did 4 rounds of layoffs since 2023 (two rounds in 2023, one round in 2024 and one in 2025 so far)
