It's mindblowing to me the amount of money Medtronic spent on opening offices overseas just to save a buck here in the states.
Medtronic completely discriminated against age and use layoffs and severance to hide it. I watch as they let people go and two weeks later post the same job, with maybe a variation in title. They use you and then lose you. They tell you it’s due to corporate overspend as they hand out promotions and rehire. Not the culture Earl wanted
Medtronic's calculation is this. Those 3 people's salaries can be used to hire 15 people in India.
They can now add another VP with the cost savings!! Medtronic has too many Directors and VPs. Does not pay to give your life to corporations who will cut you as soon as they need to answer to shareholders.
They will put your late team's responsibilities on you and expect you to deliver. Your workload will increase exponentially every year. To answer your question, there is no point. Best to look elsewhere for a work environment that actually values the personal worth of its employees.
