Anyone know if Canada will be affected by this RIF? We have a statutory holiday today and I would like to guess that Global wouldn’t be so cold hearted and let people go on a long weekend. I guess we will have to wait and see when we log in tomorrow.

Yes, seeing people as numbers is cold-hearted. Not sure what's difficult to grasp about that.
Since im able to login and work since morning today in Canada, does that mean I’m not let go ?
Cold hearted? Global sees you as a number. When your number is up, a RIF will happen (holiday or not).
That happened to the UK last RIF. They were on holiday when the RIF happened, so theirs happened a day later.
Yes canada rif will be happening tomorrow.
