Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Does anyone know how many people they’re going after?

Good luck.

Sorry for your job loss from the person reporting from Jeffersonville. Do they give a decent severance package at least?

The team that was let go from the Jville office today around 1:30/2 pm consistently has top quality performers every month. This was not a question of performance, this was purely money hungry execs trying to figure out how to get the most "bang for their buck," like outsourcing a vital operations team overseas without training a single advocate over there. How long will it be until the rest of that department gets let go?

"Sorry, we're giving your job to someone in India because a couple of the executives want a new RV"

Isn't this more or less what it comes down to?

I was let go today at 1:30 from the Jeffersonville office, and I was actually in the office working. I have had no performance issues, no quality issues, no issues PERIOD. HR said that my position was eliminated.

Truly sad. I have heard that they are moving several positions to India and other locations.

It is not nor has it ever been about performance. It is about money.

I don’t believe they are targeting specific numbers. It looks like they have targeted releases either based on performance or long term strategic goals (such as offshoring work).
