Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Got laid off after being told by our EVP that we would not be affect just a few months ago..

Title pretty much says it all. Luckily, I have a few really good interviews. Severance is poor... I would not recommend SS.. This place is mess.

@OP which EVP? No EVP I have worked for has ever come close to confirming that we’re safe for anything past the next lay off event (2 months).

They all dance around it and basically say no one is safe.

When management say you won't be effected, its to give you a false sense of security. Instead of worrying about impending layoffs, they rather you focus your energy to document all your work so your Indian replacement or AI bot is ready to take over.

Told recently by an EVP that there would be no more cuts this year. Really? Say one thing, do the opposite is the reality.

You can find a new job close to your salary and the package is fine. I can find one with better benefits.
