Why can ones do it and the others fail? Should they receive same salaries? Who will have more chances to be laid off ?

On the engineering level, it's a wash. On the management level there is clearly a difference.

For sure not same level. Look at top companies in the industry Apple AMD NVIDIA etc ... They are all so afraid of Intel engineering. Too much pay to f-c k around and mess things up. Blame everything on their clueless managers.
OP there is a same TSMC engineer who is as unqualified. So yeah you are as good as you are man. Stop thinking and trust yourself
Absolutely not - we are now in a battle for who’s better with Globalfoundries and they are slightly ahead. Folks we are at the bottom of the barrel
Intel management is low end, while TSMC has very strong leaders. Look at the VPs in TSMC, they are all PhD. Intel leadership is really the worst, as the result shows.
In the past Intel engineers were better. After 10nm debacle, many Intel engineers went to TSMC. Now Intel and TSMC engineers are of the same caliber. It’s not about engineers. The root cause of Intel’s downfall is its management and culture.
OP, do you just want opinions or true answers? The title is a hard question to answer unless you have worked for both Companies. The last question you should already know the answer, the other two who really knows what the answer is.

Intel engineers are clearly better, which is why Nvidia moved HQ to taiwan - because Intel engineers are clearly the best of the best.
