Anyone hear any updates on Austin office closure? If and when it does, will Austin folks be permanent RTO or will we be forced and mandated RTO to Westlake office? That would be terrible.

I heard Denver was being drṵg tested
I heard Denver was being downsized
Austin is definitely being downsized to a fraction of their current footprint and the Gracy Farms campus is up for sale. I have heard this from multiple sources. Baylor was ready to scoop it up but there was some issue related to UT owning the land at some point and still retaining certain rights.
They’re not closing any of the existing offices. If anything, they will build out the rest of Austin. They’ve invested too much money to let it go
@2vv - i don't know about closing the big campus but they are closing on the old seton shoal creek on july 3rd
Colo - Colocation. A leased data center.
@2vv I heard same. Their buying Shoal Creek hospital which seton just closed. It's an old ugly building so hopefully they'll be renovating it It is real small too compared to the Austin campus so it won't fit most of the Austin people.
What is colo here?
Colorado or something else?
@175 yes, that has been the plan for years, but alas, between the Chandler lease renewal in error years ago, and just typical plans never fully coming to successful completion (AppMod), Chandler and the AZ CoLo probably will never close.
I heard Robinhood is interested in buying Schwab.
I heard that westlake is closing.
This is what I heard. They aren't fully closing down but they are substantially reducing the Austin foot print. The campus near the Domain is being sold and most Austin employees will be let go. They are in talks to buy a building near Central Market from Ascension-Seton. It used to be a psychiatric hospital that was losing lots of money so Schwab offered to take the property off their hands. Remaining employees will work there or be asked in some cases to move to West Lake.
Well I heard they are closing Denver
Think they meant that Peak and SM will remain while Chandler and the colo are closed. Most here don't remember the north data center.
@12m The Peak (old CDC2) is no longer a data centre. It has some building networking, but no servers running the Business.
It's most likely that CRE would leaseback locations before a shutdown. They did this for 211 and 215. Closing Austin only makes sense if the functions are so redundant that they are covered elsewhere and cutting 90% of the staff is desired. Statistically only 10% take relocation deals. As for PHX, no. They are closing a few data centers but Peak and SM will remain.
Jesus Christ, they aren’t closing the Austin site.
They are closing Phoenix locations
They plan to offer relocation. Fully remote will not be an option.
All the incentives should have expired
