My group is mandate 3 days in office. But 50% are exempt for different reasons, long distance commute, small children, family member need care, too busy work, not feeling coming, scared of losing favorite ones, young ones, etc. required full compliance for the remaining hard working without raise

I go in one day every two weeks and if they don’t like it, Jane can kiss my a-s.
To be exempt; Metlife has to sign off on it. There aren't that many. However, selective enforcement is where we're at. It's tracked. As a people manager I could really care less as long as your work is getting done. When it comes end of year time, and I'm forced to rank, it plays a factor. People argue less when I've got a year of data showing they show up 40% of the required time. Of course if you're a Rockstar; you'll get away with it.
The days I go into the office, I do that much less for that day. When I go home, I do NOT log back in. When I leave the office I’m done.
In Tampa in my group most people are only coming in the office once a week and they’re out the door at 2.
Take it how you will, but I think a lot of these so-called ‘exempts’ are actually just people who are choosing not to comply. Personally, I don’t think going into the office makes anyone more hardworking... It’s your output that matters... And when the company doesn’t show respect through raises or growth opportunities, it’s not surprising the environment we have.
