Ended up getting laid off. It was mentioned to return all computers and monitors. Do they really track the monitors and do they really care?

Op you are unprofessional, I won't want to work with you.
@a4, how/where do i check equipment assigned to me? since company logins are blocked.
I took everything into Kinko's and gave it all back to them. Even my headset. Wanted no excuses for them to withhold my severance.
i am keeping my monitor and laptop. i don't care. they can come get it from me if they really want it. i am selling it on marketplace
You left the monitor at the office. I saw it.
Same for you. (I am hoping)
Please be aware police will be investigating any reports of theft of company assets. Return the assets or face prosecution.
If it has a Yellow Asset tag it is tracked. Return those or they could take it out of any pay/agreements. They do not seem to track perifs (e.g. mouse/keyboard etc.) Monitors, unsure use your best judgment.
Do the right thing, if it is not yours don't keep it. Unless you're told to keep it (like when Ford Land said to keep the chair).
They only need the laptop
Class of 2021.. I kept both monitor and the chair with me.
Class of 2022 fire-ee here.
Here’s how I handled it then. Took all of my equipment to the specified location, took everything but the monitor into the building, waited in line to return the laptop and asked the guy taking equipment if he really needed the monitor, as I didn’t have it with me. He said I didn’t need to bring it (all this with a wall of at least 100 monitors behind him). So I kept it. I’ll also add that the monitor I kept didn’t match the monitors they were using when I left anyway.
Btw, sorry you were laid off. Even if you strongly suspect it, it’s a little jarring, even three years later.
you can check the equipment assigned to you, monitors usually not
I gave back only what they asked for.
I kept the mouse, keyboard and laptop case, which was only a year old.
They did specify ask for the monitor in my case.
I have boxes of stuff I took home during COVID (we were all told to clear out our desks and take everything home with us). I told my former LL6 about it and several coworkers. They can have all back if they want it, but no one has stopped by to pick it up. So… it’s been 2 years now. Whose stuff is it?
Treat it as a don't ask don't tell situation. I have 5 monitors that I brought home during COVID. Nobody knows about it.
