I have to say, it just feels really strange when the president of Medtronic Cardiac Surgery sends out an email talking about all the great things happening at the company and welcoming new people, but does not even mention anything about the layoffs. There are people who worked here for so many years and gave everything they had to this job.
Every few months, the company is making big profits and we get these emails about how well the business is doing. But at the same time, people are losing their jobs. It just does not make sense. All the focus is on money and growth. No one even talks about the people who are let go or thanks them for what they did.
Honestly, if you are going to talk about achievements and how the company is winning, you should also talk about the hard reality of people losing their jobs. The people who worked here for years deserve some respect and a thank you, at the very least.
