Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

The quiet thesis of burnout culture

It’s exactly what’s playing out at Dell, and honestly, across a lot of legacy tech companies right now.

They’ve maxed out the extraction model.
   •   Fewer people, more work.
   •   Stagnant pay, rising expectations.
   •   Loyalty demanded, but never returned.

And what people are finally starting to openly say is: “This isn’t worth it.”

We are seeing the shift in real time:
   •   Younger employees refusing to buy into hustle-for-crumbs culture
   •   Veterans are evaluating the cost of their health and mental wellbeing
   •   Managers stuck in the middle, silently drowning

Dell keeps pushing like it’s still 2010, but the world has changed and people are done being disposable.

I do less work these days up to a maximum of 2 hours per day. I always look busy as I walk fast and have my notebook open. But I find places in RR to nap now.

I wouldn’t count on the jobs going to China.

Dells losing market share in China at a crazy rate. There are mass layoffs happen right now over there.

As a customer why buy dell when you can buy tariff free Lenovos.

But it’s okay, because the ‘collaboration’ is thriving. We’ve got free coffee, a desk we didn’t ask for, and just enough cubicle chatter to remember what burnout smells like in person.

... and jobs get shipped to India or China ... and there was much rejoicing.
