Tariff Price Increases

To all sales reps,

As we do our best to bring in every deal for the month, the question looms large whether or not Canon USA will continue to move forward with the planned price increases.

As sales rep, selling with a positive GP is hard enough. Price increases over he years have caused great hardships in this profession. The tariff levied on imports from China has now been paused for 90 days as our country co times to work towards a better trade deal.

If Canon USA plans on using the tariffs as an excuse to continue with the price increases, I suggest everyone pull their proposals and delay sales until they retract the increase.

It would be a dream for Canon USA to pay a flat rate commission of 2% on every deal. Price increases only push more towards that narrative everyday. It’s time for sales to push back and teach this company a lesson.

Wake up Melville! You need sales people to stay motivated. If I can’t make money here then I won’t work here.

Canon Solutions America (CSA), and now Canon USA, have experienced significant employee turnover and have operated at a service loss for several years. The current business model—offering around-the-clock support and attempting to be all things to all clients at minimal cost—is unsustainable. Adjusting this approach and revisiting pricing structures are necessary to improve gross profit margins. These changes are long overdue and represent a critical move toward financial stability.

WTS consumable supplies have already announced 10% price increases (12% for staples) starting on June 1st. It's no longer an "if" question. Price increases are coming, further complicated by the federal dept. of education budget cuts hurting public school districts across the country. Honestly, direct sales for the entire industry are currently at risk.

If you think I am fishing then I guess the price increase doesn’t affect you.

You must be in a management role or higher. “Just get the deal Johnny” type of guy.

Well when my profit is being taken back and they use the tariff as an excuse even though a pause on the tariff has been reported it comes off as extreme greed and gross negligence to those who actually carry the relationship.

We work for a company who will pay more to the guy they just hired versus the guy who has given 10 years. My days here are numbered. I can’t work for a company who turns their back on the employees who built this place.

If you work here, you already know the answer to this question: "the question looms large whether or not Canon USA will continue to move forward with the planned price increases." Stop fishing.
