Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

Let’s just get this over with. i left a good job to join Microsoft more than a year ago, and honestly, i’ve hated almost every minute of it... I’d gladly take a severance if it meant i could finally get out of here.

i get that people have families and responsiblities and can’t just walk away, but i’m so drained i wouldn’t even mind if they cut me. it’s already affecting my performance, and if it weren’t for this one oddly specific skill i have that’s tough to replace, they probably would’ve let me go by now...

with the august layoff rumors swirling, it just adds even more pressure.

Why don't you find another job right now? Mental health and family time are higher priorities than severance.

It's disheartening to see Microsoft report strong earnings while simultaneously laying off employees indiscriminately — regardless of their past performance or contributions. I've witnessed long-serving staff, with 10, even 20 years of experience, being let go as though their dedication meant nothing. These decisions often have little to do with merit or productivity. It's time for organizations to reflect and recognize that true leadership involves sharing both the gains and the burdens with employees. The growing disparity, where the CEO earns astronomical sums while those at the ground level are squeezed and discarded, is deeply troubling and hard to accept.

Everyone can be replaced. Also, may your wish come true. You dont like this, they have to do this, let there be severance.
