Furniture is getting smaller they closed 5 furniture stores in Florida so far
Furniture colleagues are paid by whichever options are available in that store. Contact your manager for more information.
Draw vs Commission is in larger furniture departments or separate stores. Smaller stores have gone to hourly. However my store went from 2 FT and 3 PT Commission colleagues to one PT hourly. For such a profitable department we sure don't cultivate the business. Instead we show our customers we don't care about it at all. They come in to buy and no one is working in furniture. The nearest colleague doesn't know how to sell furniture and is tied up with a line because they're the only one on that floor. They try to call a manager and good luck getting one that has this knowledge or isn't tied up with a customer issue.
It's so not going away....it has an amazing profit and adding into stores vs free standing locations was brilliant....
Furniture is going away eventually. Online only at best.
