I am really going out on a limb here (not), but the way things are going, in a few years people will be laid off with nothing more than a pat on the back and a hearty "good luck." Severance is on track to become something Ford used to offer. Mark my words.

Ford’s current severance offer is near the minimum legal requirement. I don’t think there’s much room to lower it further.
