It won't change anything for rank and file employees. They were already cutting to the bone. You don't have a voluntary separation program if things are normal or improving. Expect same layoff efforts and offshoring. If anything it may slow because the cutting is no longer viable without critical failures.

Market reaction to the CEO change is so negative. UNH should seek a better one, not that old a$$ who got sued for the insider trading in 2024.

Yes. Absolutely. He has been brought in for one thing and one thing only - to stop the bleeding of the stock price. The way (in their mind) to do this is to cut costs, i.e. payroll.
He is a temp. So, probably status quo until a replacement is found.
I think it takes a few months to do a CEO "search". But, I thought months ago that Sir Witty was on his way out. So, maybe they had already initiated a CEO search.
New CEO eventually brings in their own people,. So, the new permanent CEO will shake things up.
