It's hard to believe how badly the "planning" is going. I don't know what's going on. My manager doesn't know what's going on. His manager hasn't spoken to the group in a month. The exalted high ruler himself last had a company-wide meeting nearly a month ago.

@9zvj+1jutCB8k I am in a similar situation. Just wonder why they haven't done the deed yet. I have the feeling they are trying to find a cheap deal. I am a Citrix veteran, and have an excellent performance record, especially in the past 3 years. I reckon they are finding it difficult to get rid of me with a severance package. So they either a) play mind games to see if I lose my cool and resign b) put me in PIP with the excuse that I havent done anything vauable in the last 4 weeks. Which is true, because my area is something that is on hold due to "new direction", so I am awaiting orders, and getting nothing, Silent treatment.
I know I am out of the door, but this way of treating people is disgraceful. Just let me go, I want to gtfo, for not for free obviously, since I deserve that "redundancy" package. You are not getting rid of me, because my work sucks. You are getting rid of me because I am no use to YOU and your sh-t plans for the company. I am very happy to be considered redundant to a company that will become a cost cutting dump, with no focus on growth or innovation.
Now, I work in a niche area and am old, so will have some difficult time finding another position, but I cannot understand how young, superemployable developers are not running for the hills as we speak.
Every director knows who is being laid off and probably most of the managers who report to them unless they are being laid off too, they just aren't allowed to tell you yet and they won't be the ones laying you off, that is HR. I'm pretty sure I'm being laid off because I haven't been assigned any work in a month, I'm training two other people to do my job, and during the training, the manager let slip something that indicated I wasn't going to be doing what I currently do. He tried to back peddle his slip, but I'm not a complete imbecile, you know? When they don't assign work and have you train someone else to do your job, the writing on the wall is pretty clear. I just haven't received the boot out the door yet.
People are being "quietly fired" as they call it these days.
Don’t you have work to do?
Things are happening. People are hearing they are safe. I don't think silence is a good thing.
What planning do you expect? The focus at this time is the plan to complete all current layoffs by the end of the year. Many new groups have yet to be scheduled. Be patient.
I mean, of course there are things happening, but at least have a monthly status update for everyone as a whole.
