Activist ESG investing by people that know nothing about the technology, but who think forced DIE programs will solve all problems is the reason TD is in the dire situation it is today. Unfortunately, once a company starts circling the bowl, the only investors it attracts are flies.
Activist investors are already circling. They will come in and gut the place.
I don’t believe Teradata has anything worth going private.

TD is like an old classic automobile. Once a majestic master of the highway. Now no longer road worthy. Worth something if parted out, but not as practical transportation.
One issue would be that the overlap between the set of people who can do 80+ hours a week and the set of people who know Teradata inside out technically so well they could rewrite it half asleep, is empty. Hope / pray I'm wrong
