Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

If you use KOs to….

Backstab people, you are the sc-m of the earth. Literally had someone write the exact opposite of what they said they saw and would write. Shame on me I guess. Now I got play it cool while seeing this turdbag every day. Maybe I’ll get theirs next year.

There was a guy in Clinton who did exactly this. No skills or talent, but used his slimy games like KO to become program leader, executive program leader, and now senior principal. Syrup's pet. Put his name on everything but did nothing. These are the guys that rule the company.

OP is d-mb - they should know never to trust KOs - especially if the person they are asking is old and high CL. The only way that 50+ can avoid pip for being worthless is to try and push down folks who actually contribute.

Unfortunately the system is rigged. One of my supervisor asked me three times to keep providing new names for KO feedback. It was getting difficult because many of the KO’s who can vouch for me retired or left the company. The supervisor before didn’t even bothered to close out my reviews from previous year. Guess he was a favorite of someone. I can see the writing on the wall because they start colluding with their buddies to undermine my work, dispersing job scope to others who have no skill in the area. What a sh-t company… run by unethical people and their cronies.

Was thinking the other day of what one image captures the essence of our wonderful PA process...the image of opening the box of shiny knives for the annual sharpening before the sla-ghter pretty much nailed it...

Cool story bro. How would you even know what a KO wrote?

Asking someone to give u a good KO is also manipulative... you did a deal w the devil. Dont let it get to u, rank results are pretty random.

A smart supervisor would spot this and throw out the KO. Unfortunately, XOM does not have enough smart supervisors these days

If you have to tear someone down to stand tall, you were never that tall to begin with.
Tell him direct, you know exactly what he did, said one thing to your face and wrote the opposite behind your back. That’s not feedback, that’s cowardice. He may think he scored points, but character reveals itself over time. He didn’t actually elevate himself or show insight, rather he exposed himself as wimpy office gossip, not a true man.

Both parties are d-mb, you for trusting them, and they for thinking KO is anonymous.

"Poisoning the Well" is part of the career development hunger games in 2025. Trust but verify everything is the recommendation.
