Severance Settlement

For who got laid off, how is Cargill severance settlement been? I had 15 years of experience and was offered 3 months including notice period. After engaging an employment lawyer and long delayed negotiations it is now 9 months only.

You can get more than 9. They won't offer full 15 months but tell them either pay 12 months or file for court. You will win guaranteed but they will come back with more.

With no lawyer in canada half what they should with max 12 months. Get a lawyer they will give more because they have to. They are trying to use US policy for Canada and that's not how it works here...

I am in Canada. As per Canadian common law 1 month per year of service if you go through employment lawyer

Assuming you are based in the United States…Isn’t it 10 days paid for each year worked per the handbook?
