Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

The Tell Dell question: “I plan to be working at Dell Technologies one year from now”

It sounds like a way for leadership or HR to gauge morale, engagement, and the likelihood of voluntary attrition.

They want to avoid the optics or costs of large-scale layoffs by encouraging people to leave on their own through burnout, uncertainty, and instability.

The inclusion of that survey question seems like an indication of a broader strategy to identify how successful they’ve been in nudging people toward the door, or to assess whether more pressure is needed to meet workforce reduction targets without formal layoffs.

If you don't like Dell, JUST LEAVE.Dell doesn't owe you anything.

It does suggest a broader strategy to manage headcount reductions indirectly through uncertainty, shifting policies, and burnout rather than formal layoffs.

Anyone with a few working brain cells is not planning on staying with Dell. Instead they are getting those resumes updated, lining up professional references, and putting out feelers.
I like my job at Dell and I think I do it well. I would like to be here in a year, maybe five. But seeing people who have been let go so far, apparently skill, attitude, and results are not among the criteria for retention.

Tank Dell should be healed up by the beginning of next season. I think he slides in drafts, but is a possible sleeper because Diggs is gone.
