Waiting around for 20k people to be laid off is brutal. If you’re going to do it, then just do it. Rip the Band-Aid off and let the rest of us move on. Do they really expect people to stay focused with something like this looming over us every day? It’s exhausting and demoralizing.

What difference does it make? Happen every year, somebody will get fired after review cycle.
CFO said we will know by July what the results are. Just act like you have 6 paychecks left and you'll be fine.
@bt Is right. Has this ever gone smooth and efficiently. It will just drag on and on hanging over our heads like a dark cloud. Morale will continue to plummet. Productivity will be low. It will be miserable next few months and even after it does happen. All the scrambling to backfill positions and projects for those who remain.
OP does not work here. Just another bi--h trying to gaslight
Intel has never done reductions fast. The fact that this hasn’t changed is more proof that fundamentally nothing has changed. New CEO but nothing new.
It is so difficult to see additions into the workforce in the last 2 years. The inevitable train wreck just means more people lives are impacted. Managers expand their groups while customer facing groups remain the same. So the internal churn and ineffencies is a part of operating in Intel. Good luck to job searches and retirement. Leaders have already bailed out.
Sorry OP, but most of us do not find waiting for 21k to be terminated to be that brutally exhausting or demoralizing.
High performers just keep performing, ready for that next promotion.
Ya Shoulda Taken The Package!
I don't believe OP is really that exhausted.
Once the conclave is done selecting the new pope, they may be of some use to Intel to help select the slackers to be departed.
Homeland Security may step in and insist those selected are sent to El Salvador.
Be open to all possibilities.
I have the opposite opinion: I hope they drag this out as long as possible. Remember, every day they don't make an announcement about layoffs is another day of collecting a paycheck, working on your resume, getting training, and applying for jobs.
Just fuccking do it already! This intentional dragging-out of layoffs is so disrespectful to people who will eventually leave & to those who stay.
For the new employee. Allow me to introduce you to an old Intel slogan: The beatings will continue until moral improves.
