I think the customers will eventually turn around while Intel is fading away

We’ll just keep muttering about whales while everyone uses TSMC

"employees/customers"??? How much do Intel employees actually purchase? AMD costs less in any case whether it be consumer or commercial products. At this point, and it has been true for a long time, CPUs are a commodity product. Differences between brands is typically insignificant when the products actually work. A lot of Intel client products have significant flaws i.e. gen 13/14 issues. Buy AMD you will save money and usually get far better performance. AMD's software su-ks but so does Intel's.

To answer OPs original question, it will be customer turn away. Intel has never known how to treat its customers.
