Performance does not matter at any CL.

Perception of your performance and how much your supervisor likes you (tied to their standard of ethics) is all that matters at any level.

I'd say around 27. Once you're there you're topped out unless someone has the guts to put you up to 28. Then a whole other world opens for you.

It is not at what CL does performance not mater but at what stage of life you are at. If you are independently wealthy and can retire then exxon can stick its performance up its ar-e. I don't care if they say I need to work extra hours because I am at a CL 26 like the others. They will say they expect way more out of me because I am highly paid and older versus the younger ones. I have done my time and have more experience and knowledge than the youngsters. Performance does not matter if you are protected or a favorite. Performance only matters when they want to force you out because of age, or high pay.
