Thread regarding Optum layoffs

MyPath and My Career Story

Are these actually used by managers for "talent reviews?" What exactly is a talent review? I received an email from a few layers up the chain to complete the My Career Story and MyPath by 5/22 and that everyone 29+ in ECS needs to complete them. I've never heard of it from my direct manager before and it has never been mentioned in any of my annual reviews.
I've heard of conflicting things that they want you to work on My Career Story annually but I don't remember hearing about it last year. I also read some posts here that people had to work on it before layoffs. So I don't know what to believe. Thanks

It's for your ignorant leadership, they don't know what you do or even what their job is, so it lines the path for them to look like they have a handle on their job.

Can anyone verify: Is there is a correlation between employees being asked to do an employee survey and mypath account and being layed off? Does the survey and mypath request always come before a lay off or the dissolving of a dept?? Thanks all.

They want to layoff people with higher skills and the ones that are higher pays because they have higher skills! These Rifs are not based on skill set and the people making decisions don't even talk to your direct managers, who then is also in shocked as to what the he-l just happened. My personal experience as my ex-boss and I are still connected and leadership of UHG/Optum place is not trustworthy

How would managers even know if we’re actively looking? What would they even base the scores on?? If they give you a high score then are you more likely to be RIFed? Is this why a few of my teammates are always saying to my manager that they are so happy to be on the team and tell me off the record that i should also explicitly do the same?

Man I hate this game

I think it could be used for rifs. But we also update these every other year. We did them in 2023.

If you have a lot of great skills they don’t feel bad eliminating your job . Great moral compass here at Optum. Our leaser does nothing but smoke cigarettes through each meeting. Most of our team is checked out

They do this to see your potential for redeployment and your marketability within the company, this is the first stage of rif assessments so Buckle up

A talent review is a thing managers can fill out on their perception of the possibility of your departure from your current role/company. High means you're actively looking, and then there's moderate and low. Were told that this is being done for MyHR integration but I agree the timing is suspect.
