Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

5 Things to be aware about Cargill and what to do

  1. They pay well but it’s still not fulfilling
  2. Their leaders only care about their image upwards. They talk the talk but in reality it’s just words to ear they do their bit. I was never inspired, mostly confused. What they say and what they mean can be different.
  3. It’s not about how hard you work but about making it appear complicated and creating a circus in the process. This is to get noticed. Think lots of PowerPoints and show n tells.
  4. They will find a way to get rid or neglect you when it comes to raises if you’re not the circus type or if you don’t manage upwards.
  5. The actual work is pretty basic but dressed up to look complex because if it doesn’t look complex you don’t fit in complexity they like to maintain

IN CONCLUSION….Survive by fitting in to above categories while changing your personality, or go work for their those who value you for who you are and results you bring.

Cargill does NOT pay well. They are incredibly cheap. Get experience then work for a competitor and make 30-40% more. TRUST ME!!

Only ones truly doing well at Cargill are family members- most of whom live off trust funds- and are clueless about company operations.

Very well articulated and true. So called inspirational leaders most of which who are a fat physical mess and dont inspire anyone. Self absorbed with limited real friends or actual accomplishments outside of work. Work is their personna and its laughable to people who truly have their life together.

Believe the OP was well said. Having been in multiple industries, it was quite shocking to see how inefficient Cargill operates. A lot of talk about innovation, but unwilling to push forward. Slide deck culture is a real thing, people enjoy to sit in a room and praise their ideas rather than execution.

I’m very frustrated working for Cargill but for complete opposite reasons. I am not paid well, and yet the work I do here is incredibly complex. Every day feels like running a marathon, the work load is insane, and yet I’m making less than what I did at my last job. And I my manager was a good leader but got laid off in December.

Original poster, well said. I find it so amusing to see our leaders post on linkedin about their so called impact. They have never done anything consequential for the industry or their own people, and as long as you have leaders like GP and his minions, this old regime will continue. Best revenge is to be as unproductive as possible. Everyone will eventually get laid off. What is the point of working hard?

This sounds like it was written by someone that is very upset their old ways created problems that now need to be fixed and they were passed up for promotions due to their mediocrity.
