Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Get out if you can

This place operates like a prison warden’s fantasy: managers hovering over your shoulder, demanding access to every minute of your time, and acting like your personal life is company property. There is no work/life balance and no privacy whatsoever. The only thing they manage well is burning people out.

You have many people in executive positions who have never had to deliver results. They have made a career out of bull$hitting their way through a company for a year or 18 months and moving on somewhere else having never accomplished anything other than moving from company to company and now they find themselves at Altice. A company that is the laughing stock of the industry and in serious jeopardy of collapsing. These people are absolutely useless but the sad part is they don’t even know it.

Speaking to the comment referencing the non Texas markets in the West. If PD could find anyone to offload those Suddenlink markets to he would gladly do it. The problem is as it was the day Altice took over day today operations of the Suddenlink markets, the decision makers in this company simple do not know how to operate those markets. They literally do not have the mindset or the skills it takes to operate in rule markets where one system may be 8 hours away or more from another system. If it’s not a dense market with 1,000 homes per mile, they are at a complete loss on how to operate.

Within this company we are witnessing first hand a new generation of people in upper management and corporate leadership who have never, ever had to produce a single thing. These individuals came out of college in the 90s and have bull$hitted their way through their careers never staying at anyone place very long and accomplishing nothing. You needn’t look any further than DM. No one can point to a single accomplishment he has had. Not one.

In a grim Paw Patrol: Dystopian Edition, Ryder’s a ruthless corporate titan, his GPS leash strangling your every move. Chase, the HR snitch, logs your bathroom breaks with cold precision. Skye’s grounded, reprimanded for sluggish wingbeats, her spirit clipped by metrics. Marshall, a husk of burnout, stumbles through shifts, a living OSHA nightmare. Mutter “work/life balance,” and Zuma hauls you to the re-education kennel, where dissent is drowned. “No job too small”—because refusal isn’t an option in this suffocating machine.****
