The only thing we all seem to agree on is how badly we want out. New hires don’t even stick around long enough to properly learn the ropes, but can you blame them? I can’t think of anyone who’d willingly sign up for this long-term. It’s like the whole atmosphere here is just…give up.

@kf+1jtg1ygw7 Remember that old trope “you touch it you own it”? Not sure if that started under Torkos who was actually a guy who knew what he was doing, or someone more recent. I do remember Zafar saying that with all of the books behind him on Zoom, they were probably all Korans or children’s versions of Brittanica
There’s nothing you can do about it but suffer through it. Its no use to look for a job anywhere else. Citi is the only place you can get a job at.
Flip yo burgers!
What bothers me is the incentive to NOT complain. If you complain…..congratulations, you are now goaled with owning and fixing the problem, anyone else have a problem?
This is ridiculous. So, no one complains and management is so proud that there are no problems. Then there’s head scratching as to why progress is not made. I can tell you an application does not work, that does not mean I’m a coder and know how to fix it but as far as MD’s are concerned, problem solved.
Enterprise solutions that are fast, flawless and push button resilient at bargain basement prices. If its expensive, then make the old tech act like new tech. Goal your people on it. Make them shoehorn and wedge things in to make it all work that way.
Make this subaru act like a dump truck and a race car both.
citi is more focused on performative process driven rubbish than clean delivery under budget - work feminist repressive nonsense at its finest. The c15 cohort has some of the worst and most useless ppl i have worked with, gender independent - correspondence mbas who would never be hired anywhere else

It’s not us it’s you. You’re the Andy Kaufman of comedy on this site. Since you are some punk probably trolling from your mom’s basement you’ll have to google it.
hint he wasn’t funny.
I am still motivated though i have been here 8 years...
Crazy how many people can't see the facetious/sarcastic nature of the flipping burgers comments. Not sure if you H1B folks understand that nuance. To everyone else giving it a thumbs down, we clearly have many thin-skinned maricons in here.
All jobs do, I havent been in one that didnt eventually drain me. Bad bosses, coworkers, working conditions, tight deadlines, and no incentives to better the employees. Just be happy you got your paycheck vibes. I dont know the solution.
No can leave, unless they want to flip burgers.
So leave.
The flipping burgers bit got old the first time you post it. Your material su-ks. You’re a sh---y (see what I did there?) troll.
They may have gotten other jobs….flipping burgers. There is no leaving Citi for better opportunities. Its impossible. Its either tech at Citi or nothing at all but flipping burgers.
There are still opportunities out there, at least in my area. It is not that hot as 2021, 2022, but as long as you have recent tech stack and more than 10 years experience, there are opportunities. My friends got few offers in 3 months , although it is not a good time to switch, the offer is not attractive as before. Focus your connections and tech skill is the key.
Its a tough year with many uncertainty. Its better to buckle up and survive. Dont take things personally and hopefully things will get better. Similar to the stock market. Good times, you buy and in difficult times, you save and conserve.
There is no role to find externally. You either be pumping gas or flipping burgers. No other company out there is hiring or has plans to hire. You might as well not look. You’d be better off spending that time on focusing on your work at Citi. It doesn’t matter where you are located, you’ll not find another job outside of Citi. Come to grips that this is as good as its ever going to get.
Completely agree, keep hanging on until you find another role externally. Do not give up unless you have something in hand. Do not let the management force you out with all dirty tricks and tactics. As soon as you find a role externally that aligns with your skills and aspirations, don’t look back.
