Just trying to figure out if I'm the only id--t regularly clocking 60 to 70.

I attend meetings so don't have any time to do actual work. Who does?
last year was 60-80, punched in the gut at annual review. Now 40, no more no less. If a project doesn't meet the preferred schedule, sorry for you, it is what it is, especially as you keep taking tools away. Before long I'll be using sticks and stones to complete my work.
I'm a IC4 and work about 5 hours a week, max.
not 1 minute more than i am paid for. I used to flex when I was able to work from home with out of hours meetings to accommodate other geos and would cover their hours on their public holidays but since RTO being mandated and us being treated like children, I have decided to act like the petulant child they label us with.
Work to rule is the name of the game now.
I am (or have been) in L3 support for enterprise storage. Due to the aggressive new time tracking program, I have had to under report my hours to stay within the strict "in seat" hours -- governing every coffee break and lunch break within a small margin.
I am an exempt employee, but have been told to not report any extra time as it doesn't look good on the metric [ see Goodhart's Razor ].
I just received my walking papers after 18 years. Not too much of a problem as I have been trying to plan a retirement anyway.
Good luck to those who either have to keep working with the system or find a new job in this market.
All OT has to be approved in advance, so not one minute more than 40 hours. 45 hours owr week is you add in drive time.

Honestly 10-20 real work hours.
I do 200+ hours per week but if you can't keep up then you should leave
I stopped doing more than 40-43 hours years ago when they eliminated time over base for certain levels.
Pay me for 40 hours and you will get 40 hours of my best effort. But very little more for free.

I find people exagerate how much they work. They remember the highest workload weeks and then extrapolate from there.

At work? 40 hrs... Actual time spent working is another story.
I now only work 40 hours. I used to do 50 to 60 regularly. Told my manager I will no longer work from home, don't have email on my phone and only work in the office. Won't dit st my desk during lunch and block off 12-1 every day. With desk and hallway conversations my guess is 30 hours of actual work in office per week.
If they want return to office don't give them your personal time anymore. Like others have said the commute time is already a time loss with family don't lose anymore.

Please include lunch and unpaid driving time. That is part of job time. American workplace deaths remain higher than Japan's even 80s, so we shouldn't criticize Japanese work culture. American karoshi is so toxic.
40 and try not to give a minute more. Don't be a su---r giving away free time/work unless you get compensated for it. If you're getting OT then work away to your heart's desire.
