Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

How is Eric Carre CFO?

He has no real background to be a CFO. An MBA does not make you qualified.

...and what really happened to Lance Loeffler? Became CFO only to be banished to the middle east? Did he make little Jeffrey mad so they had to put a yes man in his place?

Halliburton has been morally bankrupt ever since Jeff took the helm. It barely had morals under Lesar. You need accountants but they never develop business expertise. Revenue down, fire people. Revenue up, hire people. You don’t have to know the business to do that. Long term goals, talent identification, talent acquisition and talent retainment determine the future of a company that produces products for viable markets, if your products are not viable, bring in the accountants to count money as you sell assets.

He doesn't exactly have that wholesome vibe going on. Talent is never recognized or valued at this company.

The truth is... both lance and shannon were in the race for the CEO position.

Lance was placed in MENA to gain operational experience.

Mena didnt do so well and since shannon became the president he saw an opportunity to take out his competition.

Simple. Shannon is a tw-t

Eric isn't all that bad. You can almost understand a small part of what he is saying while struggling through presenting the quarterly financial reports.

You’re not the only one who is asking this question. He just reads a script and doesn’t really appear to know the business as good as Lance did. I’m assuming Lance disagreed on a topic with Jeff and they sent him to the Middle East as punishment and to make a statement. Wall Street apparently picked up the phone pretty quick when that happened according to some inside sources I have. It’s just bizarre how weird things are at the top. But this is what they wanted, corporate business men, who will act like they have stories about the field, but in reality all they did their whole career was use their position as a stepping stone, and then move on. Erle P would not have wanted it like this. But such is life.

I hear ya. This company needs a leadership overhaul. Too many random executives that do nothing.
