So I am looking for a job and was looking at Cisco right across the street in RTP, NC and was wondering if reqs are going to be open. I figured since expensive people are being let go, I could get a job even though my salary will be low since it is a employer's market. I think employers are kicking people out and hiring people on the cheap.

Culture wise Cisco is like being in a post graduate atmosphere where NetApp is more like the fraternity house on the weekends. Lower pay, more structure, particularly around project management and deliverables are a much more grown up experience.
Layoff wise they are equally as bad. Not a bad place to build the resume and survival skills.
