Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

FM “Retirement” Very Short 😉

FM got out while he could. PK spun it as “retirement”. They think we’re d-mb. The red Canon kool-aid is stale and nobody is guzzling it down anymore.

LOL, the past 2 posters are making me laugh so hard. Always someone on this forum is always crying "where' s the proof". Always spouting someone has an ax to grind. Seriously people no ax to grind, just the truth.

This exec publicly announced his retirement in numerous publishing channels. He also did a video interview in detail of his impending retirement. So why would an executive make such a public announcement and interview numerous media outlets, just to come out of retirement in 2 months.

I get it, he lives in florida, not too far from Tom Brady who came out of retirement numerous times. But if you're leaving a company and an executive VP, don't you usually have a press release that you are moving on to another challenge?

Most of this executive's leadership team knew what was going on. The truth will continue to come out.

Just a portion of who has left the organization under this executive. Finance VP left - Marketing VP, let go - Director Professional Services, let go - Senior Marketing Director, left.

Public facts from LinkedIn, What they Think, Printing Impressions, not conjecture or rumors.

The so-called expert into why a certain exec at Canon retired. You sound like a person with an ax to grind because the exec saw the handwriting on the wall concerning the company and made a smart and savvy career move. And if the exec had money coming, then bravo. As to the cover story, don't be surprised if word seeped out the exec got shafted as a result of a dysfunctional reorg, assessed his place in the company, made it a priority to look out for Number One and took power away from upper management. The "cover story" is more about management trying to save face. Glad the ex-canon exec stuck it to them. When you devalue good talent, then folks will bail and flip the bird at management on the way out the door with a smile. Very delicious.

@The poster alleging misconduct on former Canon exec: what's your proof? Sounds like you're one of those who likely played a role in undermining the person by sliming the person with slander and bovine scatology. You want to provide proof of wrongdoing? Put up or shut up. If you can't, do something useful like look for polyps up your tailpipe.

I don't think FM got out while he could, i would say he was released under cover of retirement. His VP of marketing was let go a while ago working two jobs and the word on the street is that the head office was aware of FM playing around on business trips with one female director. With all that aside, he was not meeting his numbers way back in july 2024, but corporate could not release him due to certain employment contract he had in place. If you don't believe me, ask yourself, where is the non-compete with him going to a tier 1 canon vendor. Trust me, the story of what has been going on with senior management and directors in BOCA for the past year is now finally coming into view.

Just another day in Corporate America: more bovine scatology and cut-throat backstabbing.
