Anyone get a level up plan lately? I did. I told my boss to go ahead and issue a PIP, CAP or whatever. They said they weren't gonna. What is even the point of a "level up" plan? Is it to taunt you? If so, they have 100 levels of audacity. Think you're gonna taunts me? I'll make you fumble over your words until you fire me.

I wouldn't worry even if they put you on a CAP. I am a previous manager and had two employees on CAPs for two years in a row. Management doesn't want to do it because of all the documentation required. IT IS A LOT OF DOCUMENTATION. And for what? Even if the performance is still inadequate at the end of 60 or 90 days, HR all but refuses to allow firing. Had a guy who sat and literally did nothing for two years. I wouldn't assign high profile projects to him because I knew he'd fumble the ball and tank the product. So my boss kept giving him busy work and he couldn't even complete that! He was idle more in teams than anyone I've ever seen. I documented his behavior so clearly that the company would have won any lawsuit, but HR still strongly urged against firing.

PIP is not a good thing. It's HR's way of saying start looking elsewhere.
Level up plan sounds they preparing you to move up the ladder. Sounds good in my opinion.
Sounds like a step up plan before moving to a PIP or CAP, like they are CYA. Icky IMO. Like basically “coach up or coach out” motto. Just downright disgusting

Never heard of it. If it is from management rest assured they will put zero effort into it.
