June 10 mentioned below is likely. It's almost always on a Tuesday. Does anyone know what divisions are to be targeted? Pretty much every division and team took a hit last year. I knew personally 3 entire teams that got let go. It was bad.

Stop complaining about coming into the office for 2 days! WTF. It is your job and they pay you for it. Some teams have been coming in 4-5 days a week, even during Covid.

If you don’t like it, find a new job. Or offer yourself up for the upcoming layoffs - which are June 10 from what I hear. Great way to kick off Community Day! Which is nonsense and no one cares about,

I'm under PW's umbrella, and he too seems to be making incremental steps away from remote and possibly eventually even hybrid with requiring us to be in office "at least" 2 days a week, including the now mandatory "Tech Wednesdays."

Perhaps they're all aware that SD isn't so friendly to remote work.

I don't actually care though, personally. I'm just hoping to not lose my job through no fault of my own. But it is what it is.

I am from another division and we were more than told to expect returm to office 3-4 days when SD takes over. Fully remote may stay that way but hyrbid should expect 4 days by end of year. Layoffs are expected but we never heard first week in June. Those names would already be in if its like previous rounds.

Vibol didn’t say anything about layoffs but it seemed like he implied a return to office. He said that when he went to the Skydance office that they had a lot of people working there and it was full, but when he went to our office in West Hollywood that it was empty. And he said “I’ll just leave it at that.” Someone else asked if Skydance was aware of how we operate since most of us are remote and living in other cities/states, it would be hard for us to carry stuff back and forth. He said Skydance was aware of how we operate but he didn’t elaborate further. It seemed like he was totally for us going back to the office. In my opinion, I think some people will at least be hybrid because he was speaking about our office being empty like it was a bad thing.

To answer the question regarding a heads up from the CEO's, in the email they just sent, they threw in there, "...looking forward given the uncertainty, we are prioritizing key investments while taking incremental steps to reduce non-content costs."

After cable got hit so hard last summer I can’t imagine even more without fully shutting down channels, but I did not anticipate that to happen until we see the SD plan. This is ridiculous!

Whoever survives can look forward to more trite BS emails about "hard decisions" and how "we had to say goodbye to many colleagues" and "thanking them for their contributions" and so on and so forth.

Let's see some "hard decisions" like some of these 7 figure "leadership" members taking a salary reduction to save some $50k jobs if they want to maintain any respect from those who make them all that absurd income.

The cable brands took a brutal hit last year. The network (one of the smaller ones) I work the most with lost what appeared to me roughly 75% or more. I can't imagine even more, but of course it's possible and likely even. Ugh.

Yes June layoffs are coming. Areas will see 5-35% layoffs because some areas of business are shutting down completely. I've heard its not just the US this time. I heard that June/July was always planned to have layoffs but it was expected it would be done by skydance but as that is delayed they still need to do the layoffs to balance budgets.
I would expect cable to be hit hardest this time as skydance said its not a priority and Paramount wrote off lots of book value last year.
