If you’re CL29 and feeling insecure then you must have gotten promoted by denying the deserving candidates. You should be PIPed and flushed out.
If you are a CL29, you survive if you are useful to the company. Otherwise you get PIP’d before you reach RE. So go and be useful.
With 6% PIP...over the next 5 years the bottom quintile will be gone and over next 10 years, the bottom 2 quintiles will be gone. So if you are less than 40 years old, then you will be PIP before you are retirement eligible. But they need you for the next 10 years to train your replacement in India
Why would a 29 post on a layoff board about their PDS? Promotions must come easy these days.

28 and 29 get assessed together. Nothing has changed. But you’d already know that if you really just made 29.
