Isn’t it crazy how they get rid of one person and think everything is going to be better? If you have cancer, you don’t just cut out some of the tumor, you cut it all out if you want to be cured. Getting rid of Sal F was a good first step. Leaving James L in place is like leaving the tumor to regrow. Someone needs to come in and do a clean sweep of leadership from the top all the way down to the directors. Fruit of the rotten tree so to speak. Otherwise this product is doomed
This pattern of misconduct will only change when the government exercises Sarbannes Oxley and levies criminal charges against the C Suite team. Until then - and make no mistake about it - “it’s just the cost of doing business.”
Some serious prison time, equivalent to tax evasion, should be the default, as they are charged with healthcare fraud. Clawbacks of every penny from salaries and stock options should be the norm and the government should seek injunctions on all property and assets of any employee involved as well as the entire C Suite. Restitution and deterrence are the last option.
This is the Enron of healthcare.
