Thread regarding Bose layoffs

Software development is an afterthought

Software development has not been a happy place at Bose. For decades, it's been an afterthought and considered a burden by management. Very talented people leave, in dismay, as they are prevented from developing high-quality software.

This is 100% true. This is why there are fewer and fewer good developers left.

Garmin is a mess as well ... continuously reported issues are just left for yours. Quite a few big names have horrific apps and software that are eating them away from the inside, with technically illiterate management too stupid to understand the gravity of the situation and spend money on the resources needed.

I am an engineer who workED for Bose for over a decade and I can’t have my Bose wireless products working as they should. The software is not very good and I understand how it is supposed to work.
I can only imagine how frustrated a customer might feel. My 900 sound-bar worked well with my TV for a week and now I can’t get it to play with my TV. My wireless speakers are usually updating when I hit play. The software sucks!

I mean the Bose music app is basically the same as it was when it launched, no new services and no new features it’s pathetic
