Seems like most of us have been miserable here for ages, just waiting for that final straw. Mine was watching a great manager get replaced by a petty tyrant who gets off on belittling people. Life's too short for this nonsense. I'm out. Feel for those stuck here, but I've got my escape route.

Yes, miserable for ages! Can’t believe you just stayed and dragged the company down with you. I’m sure they are thrilled you are out. Good luck trolling your next company as I’m sure you will.

Happy for you. And hopeful that you everything you need in place to sustain until you can find a new gig or retire. Speaking as someone who got out a while ago, it is tough to find next steps in this market but it’s also not as doom and gloom as you might think. There are places out there that are way less toxic than Cengage (definitely avoid employers with active pages on this site). But better situations can be found. I am hoping for that for you and anyone else impacted by cuts today.
