Someone PLEASE tell me why we must create fabricated purpose statements. As if stating out loud that “my purpose is to pay my bills” would make me a better employee or this a better company. At the end of the day no one cares why I choose to show up each day as long as my work gets done.

My purpose is to make money and fulfill my obligations at and outside work.
The whole purpose cr-p is cheesy and inauthentic. Sometimes I question whether these people spouting this fake shot are even real humans.
Does any get that "fight or flight" response when listening to them? They are trying so hard to sound human.
Seems very DOGE like…. Send an email to explain what you do.
My purpose statement was to di---e the bozack
Nobody cares about Bills purpose driven nonsense anymore but he and his fellow Team. The proxy vote for executive compensation package was actually close at the annual meeting. Maybe shareholders are starting to wake up to Bills purpose.

Notice Rogers is now using “Lean In.” That is from Sheryl Sandberg’s book. The “purpose driven” cr-p is from Rick Warren. I laugh every time I see the “live our purpose” cr-p.
My favorite was last year an entire department (SOURCING) was emailed a purpose statement and told we needed to enter it into Workday. Compliance was monitored to ensure that every copied - pasted and were good little children.
It gives them a tangible thing to hang over your head later.
My purpose was to help and support the teammates. Literally. I still don't know why I was let go.
