Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

3 month layoff notice. No words on severance yet.

I received my layoff notice last month. At this point, I don't know if I'm getting any severance at all and worried that my last few months of work is my severance. For people who were given longer layoff notice periods (2+ months): Were you given details about your severance closer to your exit date as well? And if so, what was your severance like?

Ask your manager and HR about this and stop guessing and assuming.

On your last day, your manager will ask you for your personal email address. Within 24 hours, you'll get your severance package details and documents to sign and return this will lay out exactly how much severance you'll get. The length of severance will be based on your pay grade. The higher the pay grade, the longer the severance. For example, grade 11 got 4 months (16-17 weeks) of severance.

Either way, I suggest you start networking (actually reaching out to people instead of mindlessly submitting applications for A.I. to reject) now to find your next job or possibly look at open positions at Voyix that you can transition into.

Good luck.

The previous post must be USA, in my country healthcare termination is 90 days by law.

HR after termination is only by creating an incident and waiting for a response, HR is not local and goes through channels depending on what you ask or need.

2 weeks notice . 8 weeks severance. Last day was 2 weeks before end of month. Health insurance terminated at end of that month.

Lol asking HR anything right now is a comedy of errors. Most everything is offshored to an answering service and those that remain are quite obviously overburdened.

That said, even before the split HR knowledge was questionable. On multiple occasions, I had to inform HR what the local laws were since company policy actually 1differed from the law. I informed them that I was going to follow what the law allowed and they can do what they want, while being sure to cite the relevant texts. They took awhile and replied back that I was correct. They still haven't updated the company policies! So people out there are getting taken for a ride in certain situations.

Anyway, the moral of this is, you do you. Don't depend on HR for pretty much anything.

When I was terminated with out any notice, I was paid 8 weeks of extra pay included in my last paycheck, where I live it’s mandated termination without notice the company must pay the 8 weeks, this maybe why they gave you 3 months notice.
I got my package emailed as soon as I was terminated, my severence was clearly stated in how many weeks and included the 8 weeks I was given in my last paycheck.
Don’t expect to be treated well, your now nothing to the company, only to deal with HR and Lawyers

Have you formally asked HR what the layoff policy is? They might be hoping that you leave on your own so they don't have to pay it.

Where are you located? (State or continent)
