Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

100% this

It is a popularity contest first and foremost. The most liked and personable employee will win the contest. The hard working ugly
laborer will lose. There is no fairness in this corrupt system. Always remember this. Only the favorites,family members, friends and connected will win these games. It is a sick process with only the judges and predetermined winners happy at the outcome.

@k1+1jsw9tv24 said it perfectly.

No be a hipo. All hipos are arrogant a--holes. Be a je-k that is the way to be a outstanding employee. The employees that get recognition are the most aggressive perks I have met. They are mad with power and can do no wrong. If you are a good worker and quiet you are looked over. You will stay in the shadows while the outspoken rise. Exxon always preaches it's the way you get things done bul s hit. Exxon only cares if it gets done at any cost. I have seen it many times before. The loud mouth hipo spewing nonsense while the true brains behind the curtains get nothing.

That’s life. Don’t be a je-k and people may want to work with you.

Kissing up is simple reasoning here. But you have to kiss up to the right level. Darren bridge the gap my man. You will have some folks go.

One of my supervisors told me that a while ago "X-X is a good guy to have coffee chat with" can be an argument during ranking sessions. At least that is no longer the case.
