Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

On this whole RTO discussion

  1. Remember, anyone is replaceable
  2. If you can do your job remotely, then so can anyone else - from anywhere. Looking at you in the higher cost GEO's
  3. See #1

Bottom line - if you want a chance at keeping your job, show up. It su-ks to not have the flexibility, but that's why it's called a job - not happy, happy, joy, joy time.

Yes, this is partially true. The difference is workers need to start taking control of their workplace and stop acting like servants. The power is in the people, unfortunately, they choose to waive their power to a small group who have actually destroyed this company in a matter of 10 years.

And this attitude of "I am the best of the best and cannot be replace" is exactly why Intel is doomed.

Is everyone replaceable, yes. Will there be a cost, yes. Everyone's employment is basic ROI and management must always be considering this. You don't need to be the best, just good enough to get the job done. And at Intel, or many companies like it, this will represent the majority of all employees.

Funny. I don’t recall simply replacing the (anyone can do it) brilliant engineers who went to AMD and are now kicking our a-s.

I don't believe the RTO troll is not a troll, and how gullible everyone else is.

“anyone is replaceable” spoken like a true narcissistic executive pr--k. I might remind you that the “talent” you wish you still had left intel years ago because of people like YOU!

Bogus bogus bogus claims

#1 Not everyone is replaceable, if it was true every company would be a leader. Companies are in different positions because their talents are not perfectly replaceable
#2 if your Job can be done remotely then it can be done by anyone is another bogus statement. Knowledge, skills , proficiency matters a lot
#3 RTO will not increase the chance of keeping your job and worth forgoing flexibility. If you are rude you would know RTO is meant to induce attrition, if RTO cannot achieve the attrition goals, management will use other tactics to induce attrition ( like performance management, managing you out , quiet firing ) even when you return to office.

RTO is just fear based management than true leadership

To OP: "If you can do your job remotely, then so can anyone else - from anywhere." You clearly lack some basic understanding of what remote work is. Also, you don't seem to know the reason why you get paid for (I feel sorry for you). Just a hint: most people get paid for their knowledge and expertise, not their location (but you are different because you are d-mb).

And that's why most of us will be just returning to office ... It's a job. Our job that provides our families food and shelter

As someone now working for the competition…

We have been RTO for years now.
It’s clearly better on several metrics.

You people are living in fantasy land. Par for the course for Intel employees that have no clue what outside world is like.

The 4 day RTO is nothing more than a way to get rid of people without paying severance and unemployment. Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool.

Tan was not hired to save the company, he was hired to make it look good on paper so that its parts will be worth more when [the company] is sold-off in pieces.
