Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Older engineers/managers were let go

It seems like the people who had a more than a few years at NetApp were let go. Some teams were reduced a lot, roles in engineering have been switched around. More layoffs are said to come, i’m assuming certain counties in the US have stricter severance policies if a large amount of workers are laid off. More information can be found on California Warn act.

I'm an older person, 60+ with 14+ years at NetApp before being laied off. I wished I had been making 400K, or 200K or even 150K. I went from having a such a unique and specific skill set that I had to coordinate my vacations, to having my position at NetApp eliminated. And for Severance, they are giving me less that a week per year that I worked at NetApp.

I apologize for my previous post about innovation. I posted it in the wrong thread.

How many patents have you authored at NetApp? I have a few; another old colleague has just more than I have, counting only those from the last year. Yes, new engineers are welcome, but you are assuming that senior engineers stopped in time.
