They have laid off so many people, it is impossible to get anything done. It’s now bone deep. Before people would long finger your requests, now they laugh.

Bone deep? That is never a good sign. Of course, with reoccurring lay offs there was always the risk of cutting too deep. It’s not like you can hire someone who has no prior relevant experience to take on a 40+ year DBMS code base. Good luck to the few who remain. No experienced backfills are coming only “AI experts” who will work on “special projects”.
Couldn't agree more. We usually only find out someone is gone when you look them up in teams and they no longer exist. No communication as to who is meant to do their work either.
A lot of internal things simply don't get done anymore and frankly no one cares anymore on a lot of things. You take the view that because they removed the role the work that person did no longer is relevant
Nothing is working anymore, even internal financial reporting. The feeling is that the company has moved into a final phase, it’s started to disintegrate from the inside.
